History

Mowbray Golf Club’s home is in the northern suburbs of Launceston, Tasmania.

Its rich and diverse story began when the club was formed in 1934 as a 9-hole course. The 1960s saw the expansion of the course into the 18-hole layout you play today measuring 6000+ metres in length with two Par-5s, three Par-3s and the remaining holes being Par-4s.

The club has a successful golfing history with Mowbray’s Division 1 Pennant team winning 9 consecutive Northern and State Pennants from 1996-2004. The greatest performance of the club came in 1999 when the club was victorious in all four State Pennants (Division 1, 2, 3 and Colts).

The current clubhouse opened in 1975 and was recently renovated in 2018.

The club currently has over 500 members and has competitions 6 days a week.

The Mowbray Golf Club is a family-oriented club, has a friendly culture, a challenging course and welcomes all visitors to play the course, enjoy the clubhouse or join as a member.
